Welcome to The Mesolore Project

The Mesolore Project (TMP) specializes in creating interdisciplinary, educational materials on Mesoamerica that enhance the teaching of undergraduate education in the social sciences and humanities, as well as research at the scholarly level. TMP's primary foci are students and professors of undergraduate History, Anthropology, Archaeology, Linguistics, Spanish Letters, but hopes soon to include in its focus interested parties outside the academy.p>
Since the fall of 2001, TMP has offered content materials on a CD ROM set titled Mesolore: Exploring Mesoamerican Cultures. Some of these materials are now available at this WWW site in prototype form. Coming soon to www.mesolore.net, TMP will expand Mesolore into a "Cyber Center" for research and teaching on Mesoamerica. Mesolore's Cyber Center will offer all of the CD ROM materials on line (view screenshot), along with a live lecture series, debate series, chat rooms, syllabi exchange, and ongoing expansion of its archive and library.
Since the Fall of 2006, TMP has begun to develop an on-line text archive. This will complement TMP's on-line editions of codices and other pictorial documents with transcriptions of alphabetic primary sources from the early modern Spanish imperial world. The TMP staff will to expand these materials (from archives in the United States, Europe, and Latin America) with new postings twice each year.
Finally, while TMP will continue to work with Advanced Placement (AP) World History and AP Spanish teachers who have shown interest in using Mesolore in the teaching of theircollege-credit AP courses, the TMP will soon begin an experimental project at the high school level in ethnomathematics and ethnoscience with the purpose of enhancing Algebra and Earth Science classrooms. Watch for developments.
